Inside Dhaka publishes practical guides for people who live in, visit or travel through Dhaka and the rest of Bangladesh. This page explains how we decide what to publish and how we check it.
Our standards
- We do not invent facts. If we cannot confirm a detail, we leave it out or say that it is unconfirmed.
- We start from official sources. For transport we use Bangladesh Railway, Dhaka Mass Transit Company (metro), the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh and airlines. For government and public information we use the relevant ministry or agency website.
- We say when we use other sources. When no official source is available we may cite news reports, and we say so on the page.
- We do not publish unverified prices or phone numbers. Fares, prices and contact numbers change, so we publish them only when we can confirm them from a current official source, and we link to that source.
“Checked on” dates
Guides about timetables, fares, rules and office-holders show the date we last checked them against the source. If a page is older than the information it describes, we mark it as out of date or rewrite it.
Time-sensitive information
Timetables, fares, opening dates, visa rules and holiday dates can change at short notice. We re-check them when the source updates and when we notice a change. You should always confirm on the operator’s or agency’s own site before you travel.
How we use AI tools
We use AI tools to help with research, drafting and checking. Every page is checked against its sources before we publish it, and a person is responsible for what appears on the site.
Independence
The site currently carries no advertising. See our Advertising Disclosure. If that ever changes, paid or sponsored content will be clearly labelled and kept separate from our editorial guides.
