Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third terminal is a large expansion project at Dhaka airport. It has been built but has not started full operations.
Current status (27 October 2026)
- The Daily Star reported on 25 October 2026 that the civil aviation minister said the terminal could open partly on 16 December 2026, with about 20 flights at first. The date is provisional, because equipment integration and the operating arrangement were still being settled.
- Dhaka Tribune reported that full-scale operations are expected around March or April 2027.
- Earlier dates, including the 2023 and 2025 targets that had been published, were not met. The airport’s own website still describes the terminal as expected in 2025, which is out of date.
